The final of the "Give a teddy bear" campaign

This football season saw the launch of the "Give a teddy bear" campaign organised by the STS Foundation.
It consists in fans collecting teddy bears and, during a break in a designated match, throwing them on the pitch. The STS Foundation has pledged to pay PLN 5 for each teddy bear, which will be donated to a selected foundation helping people in need.
The first editions of the action took place in Czestochowa (1637), Kielce (4528) and Lubin (5031), where a total of 11196 plush toys were collected.
The fourth edition of the action took place in Bialystok, during the halftime of the Jagiellonia - Legia Warszawa match. For two weeks Jaga fans mobilised and collected teddy bears.
During the match between Jaga and Legia, when referee Szymon Marciniak blew the whistle at the end of the first half of the match, a countdown began and a rain of teddy bears flew onto the pitch, which lasted for a few minutes.
They were cleaned up and the pitch was prepared by security staff and two hundred soldiers. First of all, the pitch was cleaned up so that the match could continue, and then everything was collected in large big bags.
A total of 320 big bags were collected and dragged to the car park under the stands.
On Monday a special committee met and counted and determined that 109,470 mascots had been collected! Thus, thanks to the great commitment of the fans, the STS Foundation will donate PLN 547,359 to the Naspikowani Foundation!
The action spread with great echo in social media. The amount of almost 110,000 teddy bears has probably not been achieved at any other sports venue in the world.
